it’s probably the nosy in me but i’m always curious to find out what people in other parts of the world get up to during their down time. is it cafe-centric as it is in most asian countries? do you spend more time getting out and about? contrary to what many outsiders perceive it to be, life in bangkok can feel rather repetitive and mundane after a while. don’t get me wrong though i absolutely love my life here but once you pass that initial stage of getting excited over a fruit cart on the street, there are only so many places you can go and things you can do. especially when the temperature reaches 40 celcius out getting out of your air-conditioned bedroom is the last thing you want to do.
oh, happy songkran by the way! as i’m typing up this post at a cafe in emporium i see people (kids and adults) with water guns, big ass buckets and hose standing along the sidewalk splashing water at passing cars. even after 15 years here i don’t understand the fun in this and i don’t think i ever will. follow me on snapchat ohannielee to see live updates of this crazy festival!
so that aside, i happen to have curated some clips over the week and thought i’d put together a short vlog to show you a glimpse into my oh so mundane, coffee-centric life in bangkok city. i also happen to have visited many of my favorite cafes and the coolest hangout spots in bangkok as of lately so make sure to jot some of these places down if you’re planning a trip here sometime soon ;)
